European History

Consultant: Robert Wade

Robert Wade currently a teacher and the Social Studies Department Chair at John Paul II HS in Plano. He has been in public and parochial education for more than 40 years. For much of his career he has taught World Cultures, AP European History, and College Prep. Robert has served as both a reader for the AP European History Exam for 19 years, as well as a National College Board AP Consultant for the past 19 years. He is the author of the Teacher’s Resource Guide for “The Making of the West by Lynn Hunt“ as well as writing new material for the Kagan textbook to be used in preparation for the new exam. Latin

Consultant: Robert Cape

Dr. Robert Cape is Professor of Classics at Austin College, Sherman, Texas. He is the immediate past Chief Reader of the AP Latin exam and has served on the AP Latin Development Committee and as a Reader and Table Leader for eighteen years. Professor Cape's areas of research include Roman political speech and social values, women in antiquity, Latin pedagogy, and the classical world in modern film and science fiction. He has received national awards for teaching and research from the American Philological Association and the National Endowment for the Humanities. US Government and Politics

Consultant: Lorrainne Dumerer

Lori Dumerer teaches AP US Government and Politics, AP Macroeconomics, and AP United States History at RL Turner High School in Carrollton, TX and had served as AP Lead Social Studies for CFBISD. She had taught at North Dallas High School in Dallas, TX where she also served as Social Studies Department Chair. Additionally, she held the position of Dean of Faculty at Long Trail School in Dorset, Vermont. A curriculum writer and author, her articles have appeared in the state social studies journal. A College Board Trained Consultant in AP Government and Politics, she presents selected topics for AP Government at the AP Annual Conference. US History

Consultant: John Irish

Dr. John P. Irish teaches AP U.S. History, American Studies AP, and Special Topics in Humanities classes called “People and Places in History” at Carroll Senior High School in Southlake, Texas. He is a nationally certified consultant in AP U.S. History for the Southwestern Region of the College Board and serves as a Question Leader for the AP U.S. History Exam. He is the co-Chair of the College Board AP U.S. History Test Development Committee (DC), which is the group responsible for creating the new exam, overseeing continuing changes to the curriculum, and developing / presenting training for teachers across the country at state and national venues. He was on the writing team that published a four volume updated edition of the AP U.S. History Workbooks by the Center for Learning, along with a curriculum unit on Edward Bellamy’s novel “Looking Backward” also by the Center for Learning. He has published three books in the series on the Historical Thinking Skills for the redesigned AP History courses; these are published by Norton. .
